We are looking for a skilled and experienced Vehicle Body Repair Specialist to join our workshop team at our Dzorwulu Branch. The successful candidate will specialize in inspecting, measuring, straightening, and repairing damaged vehicle bodies, chassis, and structural components, particularly on heavy-duty commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses. This role offers an opportunity for a technically skilled professional to contribute directly to restoring vehicles to safe operating condition and manufacturer specifications. Job Summary The Vehicle Body Repair Specialist will inspect damaged vehicle structures, determine the extent of damage, and carry out precise repairs using specialized hydraulic straightening equipment, measuring tools, welding equipment, and other workshop tools. The successful candidate will restore damaged chassis and structural components to the required specifications while maintaining strict safety, quality, and workmanship standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect vehicle bodies, chassis, and frames thoroughly to identify bends, twists, cracks, deformation, and structural misalignment. Assess direct, indirect, and inertia damage to determine the appropriate repair approach. Measure damaged structures accurately using appropriate measuring tools and equipment. Interpret vehicle repair specifications, measurements, diagrams, and technical information. Prepare vehicles and work areas to provide safe and complete access to damaged structural components. Operate hydraulic chassis straightening benches, pulling towers, hydraulic rams, clamps, and other specialized repair equipment. Apply controlled hydraulic force to pull, push, and restore damaged chassis and frames to their correct alignment. Repair, reinforce, or replace damaged structural components where necessary. Perform welding and cutting operations using appropriate techniques and equipment, including Gas, Arc, and MIG welding. Use grinders and other hand or power tools safely and accurately during repair operations. Conduct post-repair measurements to verify that the chassis or frame meets required specifications. Perform or support wheel alignment procedures after structural repairs. Inspect completed repairs to confirm proper alignment, structural integrity, and quality. Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and established workshop quality standards. Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate findings to the Workshop Manager. Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition and report faults promptly. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from unnecessary hazards. Follow all workshop safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Complete repair assignments efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Perform other related duties assigned by the Workshop Manager. Requirements and Qualifications Proven practical experience in vehicle body repair, chassis repair, frame straightening, or structural vehicle repair. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is preferred. NVTI Grade I/II, Technical/Vocational Certificate, or an equivalent qualification is a strong advantage. Demonstrated experience working on heavy-duty commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, or similar vehicles is an advantage. Strong understanding of vehicle structures, chassis systems, and alignment principles. Practical experience operating hydraulic chassis straightening and pulling equipment. Ability to safely operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting tools, hydraulic equipment, and other workshop tools. Ability to read and interpret vehicle repair specifications, measurements, diagrams, and technical charts. Strong measurement and diagnostic skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to determine appropriate repair methods. Good understanding of workshop safety procedures and PPE requirements. Ability to work effectively as part of a workshop team. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety and quality standards. Strong discipline, reliability, and commitment to professional workmanship.
