We are looking for a technically minded, reliable, and customer-focused Technician Assistant to join our team in Accra. Job Summary The Technician Assistant will support the installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of gate automation, electric-fencing, and access-control systems. The successful candidate will work with the technical team to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, replace defective components, program equipment, complete service documentation, and provide customers with basic guidance on the operation and maintenance of installed systems. This role requires attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, technical curiosity, and a professional approach to customer service. Key Responsibilities Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in gate motors, energisers, and related equipment. Assist with the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automated gate systems and electric-fencing equipment. Service and repair Centurion gate motors, energisers, and associated components. Replace faulty or damaged components, including control boards, batteries, receivers, motors, safety beams, remotes, and energisers. Program and configure gate-motor controllers, remote controls, GSM devices, and access-control equipment. Test repaired and installed systems to confirm safe and reliable operation. Assist senior technicians with technical installations, repairs, and maintenance assignments. Conduct routine inspections and identify potential equipment faults before they cause system failure. Complete service reports, maintenance records, and other technical documentation accurately after each assignment. Keep tools, testing equipment, and work materials clean, organized, and in good working condition. Follow electrical safety procedures, company policies, and approved technical practices at all times. Respond promptly to emergency service calls when required. Receive customer calls and respond professionally to technical queries and service requests. Explain equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures clearly to customers. Train customers on the proper use of installed systems where required. Report complex technical problems to the appropriate supervisor or senior technician. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when working at customer locations. Support the team in completing assignments safely, efficiently, and within agreed timelines. Perform other technical duties relevant to the role as assigned. Educational Requirements Certificate, Diploma, HND, or Technical/Vocational qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Installation, Mechatronics, or a related technical field from a recognized institution. At least 1 year of practical experience in gate automation, electric fencing, access control, or a related field. Additional training or certification in gate automation, electric fencing, access control, or electronic security systems will be an advantage. Technical Skills and Experience Practical knowledge of electrical and electronic systems. Experience troubleshooting gate motors, electric-fencing energisers, or related security equipment. Familiarity with Centurion gate motors and associated components. Understanding of control boards, batteries, receivers, motors, safety beams, remotes, and energisers. Ability to program and configure gate controllers, remote controls, GSM devices, and access-control equipment. Ability to use basic electrical testing and diagnostic tools. Ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and technical instructions. Good service-reporting and technical documentation skills. Strong understanding of electrical safety practices.
