Role Overview The Project & Contract Manager will provide end-to-end leadership for assigned oil and gas projects, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements. The successful candidate will manage project planning and execution, contract administration, commercial performance, client relationships, procurement coordination, risk management, documentation, and project close-out. The role will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, finance, operations, suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Execution Lead the planning, mobilization, execution, monitoring, and close-out of assigned oil and gas projects. Develop project execution plans, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, and delivery strategies. Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, and support functions. Monitor project progress against approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and performance requirements. Identify project constraints and implement timely corrective actions. Ensure projects achieve agreed technical, commercial, operational, and client objectives. 2. Contract Management & Administration Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, from contract award through execution and close-out. Review contractual requirements, deliverables, milestones, payment terms, variations, liabilities, and performance obligations. Ensure project teams understand and comply with contractual commitments. Manage contract changes, variations, extensions, claims, notices, and other contractual matters. Maintain accurate and comprehensive contract records and documentation. Work closely with legal, commercial, finance, procurement, and technical teams to manage contractual risks and obligations. 3. Commercial & Financial Management Manage project budgets, forecasts, expenditure, cash flow, and financial performance. Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify opportunities for cost control and optimization. Support commercial negotiations with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers. Review invoices, payment applications, commercial documentation, and supporting records. Track project profitability, cost commitments, variations, and commercial exposure. Escalate significant financial and commercial risks to management and recommend appropriate actions. 4. Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as a key point of contact between Silgh Engineering and clients throughout project delivery. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and other project stakeholders. Understand client requirements and ensure project delivery meets agreed expectations. Lead project meetings, progress reviews, technical discussions, and commercial engagements. Communicate project status, risks, opportunities, changes, and performance clearly and promptly. Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve project issues professionally and effectively. 5. Procurement, Suppliers & Subcontractor Management Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely availability of equipment, materials, services, and specialist resources. Work with procurement teams to evaluate supplier and subcontractor performance. Monitor supplier and subcontractor compliance with contractual, technical, quality, schedule, and HSE requirements. Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure deliverables meet project standards. Address performance issues promptly and implement appropriate corrective measures. 6. HSE, Quality & Compliance Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture throughout project execution. Ensure project activities comply with applicable Ghanaian laws, regulations, industry standards, client requirements, and company policies. Work closely with HSE and quality teams to identify and manage project risks. Ensure appropriate risk assessments, method statements, inspections, quality plans, and project controls are implemented. Promote safe working practices and intervene promptly where unsafe conditions or non-compliance arise. 7. Risk, Change & Performance Management Identify, assess, monitor, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle. Establish effective project controls for scope, cost, schedule, quality, resources, and change management. Assess the impact of proposed changes and coordinate appropriate approvals. Maintain project risk registers, action trackers, progress reports, and performance dashboards. Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction. 8. Project Reporting & Documentation Prepare regular project progress, financial, commercial, and performance reports for management and clients. Maintain accurate project documentation, correspondence, approvals, contractual records, and technical information. Track project milestones, deliverables, action items, and outstanding issues. Coordinate project handover, completion documentation, lessons learned, and final close-out activities. Qualification Required & Experience Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration, or a related field will be an advantage. Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, contract-management, commercial-management, or related certifications will be advantageous. Professional Experience Demonstrated experience managing projects and contracts within the oil and gas, energy, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors. Experience managing projects from planning and mobilization through execution, commissioning, and close-out. Practical experience in contract administration, commercial management, project controls, and stakeholder management. Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and multidisciplinary project teams. Experience working in a highly regulated, safety-critical, and technically complex environment will be an advantage. Knowledge of the Ghanaian oil and gas and industrial-services environment will be beneficial. Knowledge of project risk management, change control, quality management, and HSE requirements. Strong report-writing, documentation, and project-control capabilities. Proficiency in relevant project-management and productivity tools. Ability to interpret technical and commercial project information and translate it into practical actions.
