Role Overview The Natural Hair Stylist will provide professional natural hair care and styling services while creating a warm, comfortable, and positive experience for every client. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of natural hair care. You will also build positive relationships with clients and recommend appropriate hair-care practices based on individual hair needs. Key Responsibilities Provide professional natural hair styling and hair-care services to clients. Consult with clients to understand their preferences, hair goals, lifestyle, and specific hair-care needs. Assess clients’ hair and recommend suitable treatments, styles, and maintenance routines. Create a range of natural hairstyles, including protective styles, braids, twists, locs, natural updos, wash-and-go styles, and other relevant techniques. Perform hair washing, conditioning, detangling, deep conditioning, and other appropriate natural hair-care treatments. Handle natural hair carefully to minimise unnecessary tension, breakage, and damage. Recommend suitable hair-care products and maintenance routines to help clients maintain healthy hair. Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout all services. Prepare and maintain styling tools, equipment, and workstations in a clean and professional condition. Keep up to date with emerging natural hair trends, techniques, products, and styling methods. Deliver consistent, high-quality results while paying close attention to detail. Manage appointments efficiently and complete services within agreed timeframes. Provide a warm, professional, and friendly experience from client consultation through to completion of service. Communicate clearly with clients and respond professionally to their questions and concerns. Build strong client relationships and encourage repeat visits through excellent service. Handle client feedback professionally and work with management to resolve concerns where necessary. Support the wider salon team and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times. Follow salon policies, procedures, health and safety standards, and service guidelines. Assist with maintaining an organised and welcoming salon environment. Perform other relevant duties assigned by management. Educational & Professional Requirements Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Natural Hair Stylist or in a closely related hair-care role. Demonstrated practical experience working with natural and textured hair. Strong knowledge of natural hair care, maintenance, treatment, and styling techniques. Proven ability to create neat, attractive, and durable natural hairstyles. Good understanding of hair health, scalp care, product selection, and protective styling. Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and understand their individual needs.
