Job Summary The Kitchen Staff member will support the kitchen team in preparing food, maintaining cleanliness, organising ingredients, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. The successful candidate will work closely with cooks, chefs, service staff, and management to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, safety, and timely service. Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking and food service. Wash, peel, cut, chop, measure, and organise ingredients as required. Support cooks and chefs with daily food preparation and kitchen activities. Follow approved recipes, preparation methods, and portion-control standards. Keep food preparation areas, kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces clean and sanitised. Store food items properly and follow appropriate food-handling and hygiene procedures. Check ingredients and supplies and report shortages or quality concerns to the supervisor. Assist with receiving, organising, and storing kitchen supplies. Maintain proper stock rotation and help minimise food waste. Support the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure timely meal preparation. Clean dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and other kitchen items as required. Follow workplace health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times. Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Maintain an organised and safe kitchen environment throughout each shift. Dispose of food waste appropriately and maintain cleanliness in waste-storage areas. Work collaboratively with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations. Report equipment faults, safety concerns, or food-quality issues promptly. Perform other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor or management. Qualification Required & Experience HND qualification in Hospitality Management, Catering, Food Production, or a related field. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering business, or commercial kitchen will be an advantage. Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene practices. Good understanding of food safety and safe food-handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Good physical stamina and ability to remain active during working hours. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Good attention to detail and cleanliness. Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
