The school is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced General Arts Teacher to join its teaching team. Job Summary The General Arts Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Creche to Junior High School (JHS) levels. The successful candidate will use age-appropriate teaching methods to develop students’ understanding of humanities and social studies while strengthening their communication, critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging General Arts-related lessons appropriate to students’ age, ability, and learning needs. Teach relevant General Arts subjects from Creche through Junior High School in line with the school’s curriculum and academic objectives. Develop lesson plans, classroom activities, assignments, projects, and teaching materials. Present concepts clearly and connect classroom learning to real-life situations. Encourage students to develop strong communication, critical thinking, creativity, analytical, and research skills. Assess students through classwork, assignments, tests, examinations, projects, presentations, and other appropriate methods. Monitor students’ academic progress and provide additional support where necessary. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, assessments, and progress. Create a positive, inclusive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment. Encourage students to participate actively in classroom discussions, group activities, presentations, and projects. Use appropriate teaching aids, educational resources, and technology to enhance learning. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress when required. Participate actively in staff meetings, school activities, professional development programmes, and other school events. Collaborate with other teachers and school management to support students’ academic and personal development. Promote good values, discipline, responsible citizenship, and respect among students. Maintain professional standards and comply with the school’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of a Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. Demonstrated experience working as a school teacher. Strong knowledge of General Arts-related subjects and the ability to teach concepts effectively to different age groups. Strong classroom management and student engagement skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to encourage discussion, critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning. Patience, enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with children. Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet different learning abilities and needs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
