We are looking for a creative, passionate, and detail-oriented Fashion Designer to join our team in Accra. About the Role As a Fashion Designer, you will develop and execute original fashion concepts that align with the creative direction and identity of Asanty.B. You will research trends, develop collections, select fabrics and materials, create design concepts, oversee samples, and collaborate with tailors, pattern makers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to bring designs from concept to finished product. You will combine creative vision with practical knowledge of garment construction, quality, fit, materials, customer preferences, and production requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop original and innovative fashion concepts that reflect the Asanty.B brand identity. Research local and international fashion trends, consumer preferences, colours, fabrics, silhouettes, and emerging styles. Create mood boards, sketches, illustrations, concept boards, and design presentations. Develop seasonal collections and individual designs from initial concept through to final production. Select fabrics, colours, trims, textures, patterns, and accessories appropriate for each design. Create detailed design specifications, measurements, and technical drawings for production. Work closely with tailors, pattern makers, production teams, and suppliers to bring designs to life. Develop, review, and refine samples and prototypes to achieve the desired fit, quality, and appearance. Conduct fittings and recommend adjustments to improve garment construction, comfort, and overall presentation. Monitor finished garments to ensure they meet approved design specifications and quality standards. Source and evaluate fabrics, materials, trims, and other components in collaboration with suppliers. Maintain organised records of designs, patterns, measurements, materials, samples, and production specifications. Manage multiple design projects while meeting agreed deadlines. Consider production costs, material availability, functionality, and customer expectations when developing designs. Work collaboratively with management and relevant teams to translate creative concepts into commercially viable products. Present design concepts and collections clearly to management and other stakeholders. Receive and incorporate constructive feedback while maintaining the overall creative direction. Support fashion shoots, product launches, campaigns, exhibitions, and other brand activities where required. Identify opportunities to improve design processes, product quality, and production efficiency. Explore innovative techniques, materials, and approaches that can strengthen the brand’s creative offering. Qualifications & Experience Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, Fashion Technology, or a related discipline. Professional fashion-design training or certification will be an advantage. 1–3 years of relevant fashion-design experience, preferably within a fashion brand, design studio, apparel company, or related environment. A strong portfolio of original designs and completed work is required. Demonstrated experience developing designs from concept through sampling and production. Good knowledge of fabrics, textiles, garment construction, patterns, and production techniques. Experience working with tailors, pattern makers, manufacturers, or fabric suppliers will be an advantage. Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, CLO 3D, or similar tools will be an advantage.
