We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Sprayer to join our Dzorwulu Branch. The successful candidate will prepare vehicle surfaces, apply automotive coatings, perform finishing work, and ensure repaired vehicles achieve a high-quality, professional finish that meets manufacturer and company standards. Job Summary The Auto Sprayer will prepare, paint, and finish vehicle body surfaces using professional spray-painting equipment and techniques. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of automotive paint systems, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes. The successful candidate will work closely with the body repair and workshop teams to restore vehicles to excellent cosmetic and professional standards. Key Responsibilities Inspect vehicles thoroughly for dents, scratches, rust, surface imperfections, and other defects before painting. Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, cleaning, masking, filling, and priming. Apply body filler where necessary to achieve smooth and properly prepared surfaces. Mask vehicle components and areas that require protection before painting. Prepare and mix primers, base coats, clear coats, thinners, hardeners, and other paint materials according to manufacturer specifications. Match paint colours accurately to manufacturer specifications, existing vehicle colours, or customer requirements. Operate professional spray-painting equipment, including HVLP spray guns, compressors, and spray booths. Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats evenly to achieve a consistent and high-quality finish. Follow recommended paint application techniques, drying times, and manufacturer procedures. Inspect painted surfaces for colour consistency, coverage, texture, runs, dust, or other imperfections. Correct painting defects through sanding, polishing, repainting, or other appropriate finishing techniques. Perform final buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a professional showroom-quality finish. Maintain spray guns, compressors, mixing equipment, spray booths, and other painting tools in clean and functional condition. Clean and store painting equipment properly after each assignment. Maintain proper ventilation and safe working conditions in spray-painting areas. Handle paints, solvents, thinners, hardeners, and other chemicals safely and responsibly. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling paint materials and operating equipment. Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and workshop procedures. Monitor paint and consumable stock levels, including thinners, hardeners, sandpaper, masking tape, and related materials. Report low stock, damaged materials, equipment faults, and other concerns to the supervisor promptly. Minimize paint and material wastage through accurate preparation and efficient application. Work closely with panel beaters, body repair specialists, technicians, and workshop supervisors to complete vehicle repairs efficiently. Complete assigned work within agreed timelines while maintaining high standards of quality. Perform other related duties assigned by the Workshop Manager or supervisor. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum of WASSCE/SSCE certificate. Trade Test Certificate (NVTI) in Auto Painting, Auto Bodywork, or a related field is highly preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in automotive spray painting. Experience in an automotive assembly plant, authorized dealership, commercial vehicle workshop, or high-volume body repair facility is an advantage. Proven ability to operate modern spray-painting equipment and spray booths. Good knowledge of automotive paint preparation, colour matching, priming, base coating, and clear coating. Basic knowledge of body filler application and panel beating is an advantage. Good understanding of paint mixing ratios and manufacturer application procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to achieving high-quality finishes. Good knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, particularly when handling paint chemicals and VOCs. Ability to work effectively as part of a workshop team. Ability to work under pressure and meet repair deadlines. Reliable, disciplined, and committed to maintaining professional workmanship.
